IN THE LAST MINUTE OF THE WORLD
a daylily is opening beside tomorrow’s bud.
A robin tends her two hungry nestlings.
The sun emerges from behind a cloud.
Peppermint, thyme, and sage lose their perfume.
People outside, hugging, holding hands, and crying.
